The Conexión Vial Aburrá Oriente – Túnel de Oriente is a mega project that connects the Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley with the San Nicolás Valley; two regions of great importance for the department of Antioquia.

The project contemplated the construction of approximately 24 kilometers, including tunnels, viaducts and road interchanges. It begins in Medellín, in the Baltimore sector of the Las Palmas dual carriageway, where a road interchange was built that allows access to the first tunnel, with a length of 774 meters, then there is a stretch of open road in the East Central zone of the Aburrá Valley, through which the second tunnel of the project is accessed, which is 8.2 km long, in which the implementation of high safety standards stands out.

With an investment of close to one billion pesos, it is a benchmark of connection and progress that reduces travel times by half, translates into development and wellbeing, and also contributes to industrial, tourist, environmental and large-scale mobility dynamics.
